Snake Story

Remember I'd mentioned seeing a snake in our house? And I didn't have the courage to approach it long enough to get a picture?

Well.... the snake came back!

Actually, it's becoming a regular visitor in our house! Yep, I know it's not too thick but it's still a snake for goodness gracious! We've seen this guy around a couple of times...and I finally was able to get a picture! Call me crazy but I had to get a picture so I could show it to the unbelieving people that think my imagination is running wild :) sheesh

ummm...it does me...I do believe I am becoming braver...! In case you snake lovers want to know, this snake is not poisonous and we did not kill it...as much as I wanted to, I refrained myself :)

So there....

The little prince loves all the excitement country life offers. He like it too much for my comfort. Bringing frogs and little critters to the house has been common these days... ugh
What can I say? He's definitely all boy!
And he has to be the silliest boy ever ....

Yep, so there you have my snake story! Hope you're not too scared...and if you come to visit, the snake lives in the guest room :) (smirk)

A Blessed Legacy

Hello! I'm actually posting again... (sheepish grin)

And I won't bombard you with my whole lists of excuses..  umm...okay?!

It's been a blessing to have my grandfather visiting for the the last couple of months. My grandfather worked as a missionary here in Brazil for over 40 years. He was one of the first missionaries to come to our city. I have such great respect for him and he's always such a blessing to me...and just for the record, he's the best grandfather a girl could ever have. I am extremely thankful for the Godly example he has left for the next generations to come and I am thankful that my son has the privilege of being around his great-grandfather for  a while! What a blessing it is to have such Godly heritage!
My Grandfather is one of my modern day heroes. The ones who know our family history, are aware of the many valleys our family...especially my grandfather have been through.
This man gave years of his life to serve the Lord in Brazil.

My grandmother, gave her life serving the Lord here. She contracted a disease here while working in the Amazon and went to be home with Jesus in 1995 leaving a huge void in our lives.

I am forever grateful for the wonderful legacy my grandparents have left for us. I know they would do it all over again... the many joys, many souls, many blessing obtained through their ministry far outweigh the trials    and sacrifices made.

As my grandfather prepares to return home to the US, our heart are filled with gratefulness for his life. Extremely grateful for his testimony of love and faith.
Extremely burdened to be more like Jesus and to follow the example of my amazing grandparents.
Extremely longing that my son will follow the footsteps of his great-grandfather.

Birthday recap

A week ago today our little prince turned the big 2! We had a small party for him...it was such a busy week and I was trying to stay within our budget so we kept things simple. It was a fun and enjoyable time though...and I am extremely thankful for my wonderful mom who made his adorable cake...he talked about his cake for days :)

You're an awesome "mema", mom :) Thank so much!

Birthday Boy!

Our little prince is 2 years old today....unbelievable...and yes, I have shed tears today. He's growing up way too fast! We had a small birthday batch for him. Pictures will come soon...I promise!

Sooo...that's part of why I have been MIA...I promise I will get better...it's really been the craziest of weeks...ever!

Love is in the air

I had the privilege of shooting an impromptu photo shoot of two of my childhood friends. I grew up with both of them and I was tickled when they asked me to take their pictures. Their wedding date is set for the seventh of April and we had a blast taking these pictures...they make a fantastic couple....and a funny one too. They had me laughing the whole time!

Step by Step

We just got home last night from a wonderful time at our annual family camp during the "carnaval" days here in Brazil.

We were really blessed during the four days we camped together with other believers. It really was a sweet, sweet time of amazing preaching, fellowship, fun and great food. We came home with our hearts overflowing with gratefulness for the work the Lord did in the hearts of many. 

I had the privilege of teaching the adolescent girls this year. Two of them got saved during these days at camp. What a blessing it is to see people saved and Christians choosing to walk with Jesus... our theme this year was "Step by Step with Jesus".

We were reminded that we can WALK with God and still not be CLOSE to him! We're just rejoicing and praying that we will continue to walk closely....step by step with Jesus.

We're a happy, yet tired bunch. This week's agenda is mostly filled with a mountain of laundry and housework to catch up on...
It's so wonderful to serve Jesus!
