It's Saturday??? Already???

It's Saturday...unbelievable.

Where has the week gone??? We enjoyed such a nice week. We had nice weather this week. It got down to the 60's, and was so nice for a change! Yes, you can be jealous :)

This week was mostly a relaxing and catching up week...I'm so thankful for God's grace through the many trials we face! His grace is amazing!!

I got all caught up on my laundry! Hurrah!!!

We got our shopping done this week too...so that is another blessing! The prince thinks shopping is quite boring. He decided to take a nap during our shopping trip. How he can actually sleep through a loud supermarket is beyond me!

So. after this week's sabbatical, I hope to return to normal life ;)

Busy weekend....

Whew! What a busy weekend! The last 3 days have been a holiday here in Brazil...that means hubby can be home with us during this time! We've really been enjoying this precious time together.

It's been a crazy couple of days...but enjoyable too..

Helped my hubby in the construction of our home...it's a' coming slowly....but it's coming!!!

Friday morning ramblings..

Good morning!

I am sitting here sipping a mug of this delicious stuff here! I am so excited about it too ;) We found real american Swiss Miss at the store last night! We had never seen it here in Brazil, therefore the excitement over Swiss Miss! Ahhhhh, it tastes so good...and it didn't cost us an arm and a leg, so I am happy! What a nice way to start the day!!!

I was sitting here looking at some of the recent pictures I took. This one (posted below) is definitely a favorite! My two favorite people having a cuddly time together! Daddy came home from work on a rainy evening and this is what I saw when I walked out on the porch :) Isn't it soooo sweet?!?!

This one is another favorite of this week! We were out eating at this restaurant and I snapped this picture of the lil' prince! I love, love, love the expression on his little face, and the pose...swoon!!!!!!!!!!! He's the most handsome little man on the face of this planet :) Smile....

And to end my post...this is my grandmother...I mentioned her in my last post... Doesn't she look great?!?! She's 75 years old, people....and she had just arrived from a long 10 hour plus trip down here...yeah, I think she looks really good!

It's Wednesday already!!!!!

How the days are flying by! I can't believe it's Wednesday already! The week has gone so fast...

My grandfather arrived from the US today...Hadn't seen him for 3 years, so it was nice to see him again and he also got to meet little prince, his first great grandchild! I tried to get a picture of them together, but my grandfather would not let me get one, he's terribly afraid of Facebook and was afraid I would post it on there... talking about Facebook, I deactivated my account...I just think I need a break from Facebook. It's wearing me out and I hate how much time I spend on there so therefore, I am just keeping my blogger and email for a while...I don't know how long, but at least for a bit :)

Anyways, back to my grandfather...I forgot to mention my grandmother came with him...she's a real sweetheart, she's not my real grandmother...my grandmother passed away several years ago, and my pops remarried this sweet lady...She's just so fun, I really love her!

Friday is my pop's 74 th birthday so we're having a small family party for him! He really looks great for his age...and my grandmother is almost 75 and she's wow...what I want to look like when I am 75! They're really energetic and in shape...of course they're vegetarians and only eat healthy, so I guess I will never look like her...I don't really want to give up on my meat (grin)...

Sooo, our day was kind of thrown out of schedule, little prince napped in the car on the way home and will not nap again. I was hoping he'd nap, because I have so much I wanted to get done during his nap...yikes!
And...today is a Wednesday, which mean we have church tonight...and I know a little guy who will not be very happy in church today! The worst is, he's fussy and I can definitely tell he's sleepy... oh why won't he nap?!?!

I've got a load of laundry to hang up, a pile of clothes that need to be ironed and hung up in the proper places in our wardrobe and a bathroom that I was really hoping to get cleaned today...soooo, I'm off to do that before time rolls around for getting ready for church!

Confession Monday

I have a confession to make......I an addict...whoa, there you got it! I am addicted to coke, yes....coke, but it's not just plain american coke...sorry you guys, but american cokes can't ever be compared to our wonderful Brazilian coke.  If you've never tried Brazilian coke, you just don't know what you're missing! It's awesome...and yes, I have tried American coke a million times and it just doesn't have the same taste ...I don't know why, but umm, I love coke! Glass bottle coke, mind you...tastes different too! You're talking to a coke expert here, so yeah...Man, yumminess....

Another confession, I am deeply in love with the little guy pictured below, and I just can't stop taking pictures of him...I know you all must be so tired of seeing his little face, but I never get tired of this beautiful, delicious, smiley little prince! Just melts my heart! Isn't he too cute?!?!

Yet another confession....I hate pictures of myself....I just do....I just don't like it....period.
My hubby insisted on getting a picture of me yesterday, so I let him take it, and I was going to delete it, but I think he did a pretty good job, and this picture is not the worst I have seen of me, soooo here you are!!!!

Whew! I feel better after making some confessions :) So there you are, you know some things about me now!

Mondays are usually a laid back day for us...just recuperating from busy weekends and enjoying good food, oh and coke... never.mind! I have a one track mind when it comes to coke (sigh)

Anyways, back to Monday, I cleaned the house early this morning, and am getting some laundry done and eating tacos for lunch.. i.love.mexican.food! Another one of my down falls! Yum!!!! I hope to get some reading done today during lil' prince's nap-time!

Returning to "normal"

After Christmas and New Years and moving in between...we're finally returning to "normal"...I don't think we're normal people, but hey...I'll just leave it at that! (smile) My family is not normal sometimes, but then, whose is ?!?! Oh my, did I just say that?!?!

Anyways, returning to our normal schedule hasn't been easy, but we're finally starting to get it! The moving process really threw little prince out of whack...his naps have been short and he's been getting up way too early, so I am working on getting him back into schedule.

I have been getting up early, and have started jogging bright and early...before hubby leaves for work...I find that jogging really helps me get motivated and get a head's start on my day. My plan was to get back from jogging, shower, and have my devotions before the little booger prince woke up, but it hasn't been happening. He's usually awake when I get back from jogging and he usually does not want to go back to sleep! Sigh....So today I had my devotions while he entertained himself with raisins and crackers ;)

He really loves raisins, and crackers and soy juice and bananas! He is a food lover! Must take after his daddy! (grin)

I was able to get all my laundry done yesterday! CHEERS!!!!!!!!!! And everything is finally settled, clean, and organized...just the way I love it!

Prince just woke up from his morning nap, so off I go to enjoy some time with him before I make lunch!

I am still alive!

Hello, I am still alive, believe it or not! What can I say, craziness...Things have been literally crazy around here! I have been starting posts for the longest time, and never get them done. Something always comes up and I am interrupted, but trust me, they're more important things, so...posting can wait :)
 My husband has three weeks off work so we're working on our house construction. I am fighting a cold, so I have not been feeling the best lately... We're getting excited for Christmas!

We had a special Christmas program at church last night. It went very well and we had several visitors, so they got to hear the gospel clearly. I have several pictures to post from that, so stay tuned ....

 In the meanwhile,  enjoy some family pictures....

Happy Saturday! Hope you're having a good day!

 Hubby didn't have to work today, so we slept in...it was so nice! We were awoken by a little boy chattering away, but we all feel rested up! I love Saturdays, just enjoying a laid back day with daddy home all day! Right now I can hear Josh and daddy playing together. Josh is squealing and daddy is laughing :) Such a sweet sound...I could sit and listen to it forever.

Our church is having a churrasco (Brazilian barbecue) tonight, so we're looking forward to that!

Just a lovely, lovely day! So, I am getting off here to enjoy it with my two favorite people!

Out and about

We went out and about last night. This new supermarket opened this week and we wanted to see what it was like. It's called Extra supermarket and it's the closest thing to Wal-Mart here. We did not have anything like it, so I was so excited! It reminded me a lot of Wal-Mart in the States. They were packed last night, so we only looked around for a couple of minutes and left. I saw several things I want to go back and get, but the line to pay for the stuff was ridiculously long. I hope to go back this week with my Mom so we can take time to look at everything. We just kind of looked over all the stuff because my hubby and daddy were there with us and well, I'll just say they're not too keen on shopping, soo sigh, we'll just have to back sometime soon!

We left the supermarket and just watched the city lights for a while! It was fun! Josh enjoys looking at all the Christmas light and the car light that were zooming by under us.

My mom and I decorated our church a little for Christmas. We made the flower arrangements pictured below. We had a lot of fun putting these together, and I just thought I'd post a couple of pictures!

Can you tell I am excited for Christmas? Our church choir is working on a special cantata and program for Sunday the 19th, so we're busy trying to get things ready for that. I am supposed to memorize a passage of scripture, but I still haven't even begun! 

 What can I say? My life has just been crazy lately! Having two sick people around is a lot of work! I am just praying I don't feel sick...that would be catastrophic for sure. I have lots of laundry to catch up on, hopefully later tonight and tomorrow morning? My list is long. (Sigh)  

* Oh life! When wilt thou slow down?!?! I only have one kid, I don't know how you busy mommies of multiples make it! Congratulations and Merry Christmas, I admire you! 

Well, enough rambling. I need to get focused... I keep saying that to myself several times a day...focus, Jessica, just focus!

This and That

On my last post, I mentioned about my hubby's presentation last night and that he was wearing a suit! I also mentioned that I had not found the camera to get a picture of this phenomenon :) I found the camera by the time he came home and snapped a pictures of him in a suit. Yay! He was so relieved to have this presentation done and be on vacation from school until March.

He wasn't able to go to work today. He woke up in the middle of the night with sharp pains in his kidney. We don't know what exactly is going on. We took him to the ER last night and they gave him some pain medicine intravenously. Then this morning, he started feeling sick again, so he's at the doctor's right now trying to have some testing done to see what's going on :( Sigh, I wish I could be there, but I don't really want to take my already sickly baby to a hospital, so I have to stay home with him!
 The little prince's hand improves every day! He now has the flu that's going around here, so he's pretty miserable. He's been running a fever, coughing and had a runny nose...poor little guy :( I have two sick men at my house! Please pray that God will give me extra strength today! Thanks!

Melodious monday

 I am sitting here enjoying this comfortable, overcast day, not as cool as I wish it were, but it is nice!  I have a big mug of really strong coffee sitting here. *Yummy! * Wish we had some snow! I envy you people who have snow on the ground!
 Josh & I enjoyed a laid back day. We slept in and then went out for breakfast. It was a lot of fun! Little prince has been feeling some better. His finger is healing so nicely! So much better than I expected! I am so thankful he's feeling better! It's amazing how fast these little people heal! He uses his hands to touch everything, (I was afraid he would be scared of using it) and he's even crawling (Smile). It's hard to keep him quiet, he's a very active little man. He has learned to pull himself up on things and takes small steps around! I can't believe how fast he's grown and how much a child develops in just months! Wow! He's going to be 9 months old on Wednesday! Where has time gone?!?! I still can't get over how fast these 9 months have gone!

 
We're having homemade deep dish pizza tonight and I made some chocolate chip bars for dessert... life is good!
 Hubby has a huge presentation at school tonight. He spent many days working on this project. He was up 'til 4:00 am. last night working on it! After this week, he will have three months vacation from school, so we're excited and anxious to have some more time together as a family! He left for school all dressed up, he looked sooo handsome (swoon)!!!! He actually had a suit on! If you know my hubby, you'll know that's a once in a life-time thing! He only wore a suit at our wedding and I convinced him of wearing a suit for my cousin's wedding. (I think he only had it on for half of the wedding :) Here he went to school in suit and tie! Impressive! I wanted to get a picture, but I could not find the camera :( Oh why can I not find things when I need it most?!?! (sigh) This is historical, so I really needed to have this documented!
  Oh well, I hope there will be another time!

Well, my pizza is done, so off I go to enjoy it!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas ....

It's beginning to look like Christmas at our house! I finally got our decorations out and our Christmas tree put up. Joshua is enjoying looking at our tree. He giggles every time the light come on :) We took him to the mall on Thursday night and he enjoyed all the shiny balls and lights. He wanted to touch everything, of course :) His hand is doing pretty well, it seems to be starting to heal. He still feels a lot of pain and we're giving him medication every few hours, but he amazes me. He's a strong little man! It's so nice to see him smiling again!

Monday adventures

My mother's cousins are visiting us from the US so we took them sight-seeing on Monday. We went to the Chapada mountains and this time we were able to go see the Bridal Veil Falls.

A relaxing time by the river...

Yesterday was children's day here in Brazil so we were able to spend the day downriver where my Dad was born and raised. We had such a fun and relaxing day there. We got to bathe in the Cuiaba river, it was actually Josh's first time to bathe in a river. He really enjoyed it. We ate a delicious fish lunch and just had so much fun relaxing and enjoying God's creation. Alex fished for a while and he caught a couple of piranas. After we came in from swimming we saw a huge alligator right where we had been swimming :) YIKES! Exciting times!! We watched the sunset together as a family. It was just beautiful! The rains came down ....

I had mentioned in this post that we were praying for rain, and it finally rained! After about 90 days without any rain, it rained! It has made the temperature so much nicer! I thank the Lord for sending us rain! It still has not rained a lot, but it feels like we're going to be having more rain in the coming days, so I am looking forward to the rainy days!

Baby kisses

What is more special than baby HUGS and baby KISSES?!?! Our little prince is just so loving and lovable! I have been enjoying all the loving he's been giving lately! He loves to "give hugs" and "kisses"....and I am just loving every minute of it! People tell me to enjoy it while he still likes hugs and kisses, I met this 4 year old this week and he was loudly protesting when his mom tried kissing him ...he kept wipping it off his face while saying "yucky"! It was a funny episode, but I got sad when I began to think that Josh is not going to want to give hugs and kisses pretty soon! Sooooo, while he still likes them, we're going to continue our "smoochin'" :)

I think he's trying to use his little teeth on me :) What do you think?!?!
