Growing fast

Do you remember seeing this picture before???

I took it just a little over one month ago, we had just gotten little Hero and I think I even mentioned he was a good dog..

He's a little over two months old now and is just growing by leaps and bound..and I wish I could send him back to where he came from (clears throat), I really meant... I wish I could get rid of him.

Yes, he's cute...but he's a H.U.G.E mess and nuisance.

You should see the situation my plants are in. They look like they're barely surviving his biting and chewing. (sigh)
He's just getting too big for my taste...and no, he's NOT an inside dog. I never allow him inside! It's bad enough having him outside!

But enough complaints...

I do like it that the prince enjoys having a puppy ;)

Thankful Tuesday 4/10

Today I am thankful for the privilege of taking walks with my son...


We now live out at this beautiful place where there's a ton of room for daily nature walks...this road pictured below is right in front of our property and it's just as peaceful as can be...cars are very rare, and the scenery is just beautiful...

We talk about the beautiful scenery, the birds, and we even get to pick some flowers :) I love being able to spend time talking and teaching my little prince about life.

My first two days of the week in pictures!

Howdy! It's been a delightfully refreshing last couple of days for us in our neck of the woods. We've been having amazing weather! It's been awesome...in the 60's and 70's, oh so nice! The prince and I have been sleeping extremely well! Very nice for a change!


This mommy has been enjoying the opportunity to bake every day and snuggle a little longer with the cutest little guy in the planet!

It's so awesome! I love cuddling him...it's a good thing he still enjoys being snuggled, 'cause I'm not about to give my snuggles up, nope, I'm not!

And I totally love being a mommy. Truly the best and most rewarding job in the whole universe. Would not change it for anything in this world! Yes, it does have it's hard times, but it's so worth it just to see a little smiling face waiting to be picked up every morning, or a sweet voice saying: "mommy"...too wonderful for words!
I cried today when the prince ran over to where I was washing dishes, and cheerfully handed me his special find! I think he thought it was a flower...it's actually just a small piece of fern, but it meant the world to me! It was the very first time I got a "flower" from the prince, something he hand picked himself. It was just too precious to words!

I have to say it's the prettiest, most special fern I have ever laid my eyes on :)

Simple things

It's dry, dry, dry season here in Brazil! The rains have stopped and all we have left is withering grass and dust!   Lots of dust.
It's definitely not my favorite time of the year, but I am still thankful that there are still flowers :)

The prince and I went on a walk the other day and I was delighted to see this beautiful bougainvillea! Lovely, isn't it?!?!

I love taking the prince for walks. It's wonderful to see the world through his eyes! He's so excited about littlest things! A flower or an insect brings a delighted squeal! It's amazing...oh to have such a delight for simple things!!!

Hammock fun

  What's better than a windy afternoon under some mango trees on a hammock?!?! Nothing!!!!

  The lil' prince thought it was the funnest way to spend the afternoon and his mommy couldn't resist snapping pictures ;) Isn't he the cutest little guy ever?!?! Of course I am not one bit biased ;)

Toally lovable, squeezable, huggable and kissable stuff, isn't he?!?! I am so blessed :)

I think I'll go love on him some more :) (grin)

Busy bee...

These past few days have been extremely busy for us...and the next couple of weeks will be the same way! I'm trying to get things ready for a birthday party for the cutest little prince, and boy, oh boy...it's a lot of work!

As his birthday fast approaches, I get more nervous with all the stuff I need to get done before the 4th of March. We're planning to go to our annual family camp during Mardi-grass, which is from the 4th-9th of March, and the prince's birthday party is the 11th, so I am trying to get everything done before the 4th so I can go to camp and not have to worry about party stuff. This has meant several....way to many trips downtown just this week! I need to get this done so I can pack for camp! Pack...another thing that has me worried. Is it just me or does every mother have to carry so much junk stuff around?!?! I have a headache just thinking about all the things I will need to pack to spend 5 days away from home...oh my! Let's get back to the birthday talk though...


Decorations, balloons, party favors and the list just gets longer... I am thankful that I already got a lot done this week, I still need to get some last minute things together...but they're still time consuming and exhausting to say the least :)

Not complaining though, I am excited about this party and I just hope everything runs smoothly and we can enjoy a cute party for the prince!


We finished the party favors this week...and boy, are they cute !!!!!!!!!!!! Below is a picture of the beginning of them...but you'll have to wait to see what me made these into ....(Grin)


I am soooooo pleased with it!

It was a lot of work, but I had help from my friend Andreia...and my Mom...and it was worth it every minute of cutting...sweating, gluing, cutting....you get it :)

They're as cute as can be, and I am so happy we decided to make our own party favors. They came out so much cheaper than having them made, and I personally think they look much cuter...

So, can you guess what it is?!?! And nooo, they aren't flowers...it's a boy's party...you know!!!! I'll let you think on that one for a while...

Anyways, that's been my week..and I am really looking forward to this party, but I will also be glad when it's over :) No more big birthday parties after this one, dear little prince!
......And I won't even begin telling you how I can't believe he's going to be one...that's going to be redundant...I think I say that in almost every post :)

Hubby gets to stay home tomorrow, so I am going to relax and enjoy the day with him tomorrow ...We all need some rest :)

Out of the mouth of babes...

"Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger." Psalms 8:2

This verse is so beautiful...and I was reminded of this specific verse this week as I heard my little prince singing praises to the Creator! This verse in our Portuguese Bible says that Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings come perfect praise...it made me think, and smile as I heard him singing. His little voice isn't perfect, and it's not in tune...but it's from a pure heart, a heart that does not hold grudges, a heart that is still tender...I'm sure it's much more beautiful to God's ears than a "perfect" song sung by a heart full of anger or bitterness!

I definitely want to have a heart like that!!!  A heart that sings praises to the Creator, a joyful heart!

First haircut!

Dear hubby decided it was time to give Josh his first haircut. Josh had been pulling on it for a couple of days. It wasn't huge, but it was starting to make little curls at the ends so hubby got out the hair clipper and scissors and started clipping away during his lunch break today! It was hard to cut it because Josh was squirming around the whole time, but I think he did a great job! My little prince looks all grown up now! Here are the pictures...See for yourself!

Baby kisses

What is more special than baby HUGS and baby KISSES?!?! Our little prince is just so loving and lovable! I have been enjoying all the loving he's been giving lately! He loves to "give hugs" and "kisses"....and I am just loving every minute of it! People tell me to enjoy it while he still likes hugs and kisses, I met this 4 year old this week and he was loudly protesting when his mom tried kissing him ...he kept wipping it off his face while saying "yucky"! It was a funny episode, but I got sad when I began to think that Josh is not going to want to give hugs and kisses pretty soon! Sooooo, while he still likes them, we're going to continue our "smoochin'" :)

I think he's trying to use his little teeth on me :) What do you think?!?!

Precious moments

 I am so thankful for all the precious moments I have with my little prince! I love having the excuse to just kick back and lay on the floor and play with my little boy! We have so much fun together!!! I am so thankful for these precious moments the Lord has allowed me to share with my little man! I am cherishing every moment....I know it will soon pass by!

My life...

I know all I basically post is pictures of Joshua! Well, the fact is that this little fellow is my life :) I have the privilege of being with him 24 hours a day and what a joy and amazing challenge it is! I enjoy every minute of it!
He's growing so fast! Seems like it was only yesterday when he was born! A reminder to cherish the moments...soon they will pass by.
Anyways, I snapped some pictures of him today and thought I'd post them on here. I never get tired of snapping pictures, especially when the object of my "snapping" is someone so handsome as this little guy :) Of course, I am not one bit biased ;) Here are the pictures:

   Daddy was sitting in the rocking chair while holding him. Notice the mangoes in the tree right behind Josh. They will be ripe soon! Yummy!














He can almost sit up by himself now, but he can't hold up his back too long. Daddy was helping him in these pictures! He loves the ball . He and Judah Lockhart were playing with the ball for a little while today...






We've been keeping so busy lately. My sisters head back to the USA on the 10th, so we're trying to prepare ourselves to say good-bye once again! (NOT an easy thing to do!) I do not like good-byes :( But, I am so thankful for the time we were able to have together. The summer went by so fast!
I started teaching piano and that's going well and keeps me even busier, but I have been enjoying it!
Our cold season has ended now and it got so dry and hot all of a sudden! At least it is much nicer than the very cold season!

I love my job!

I know I've mentioned this before, but I seriously LOVE my job! Being a mommy is the best thing in the world! It is time consuming, and exhausting sometimes, (as I mentioned, Josh has started teething, so I have been sleep deprived for a couple of days), but I still wouldn't change this for anything in this world! The joys of being a mother FAR outweighs all the rest of the minor things we encounter along the way! I am so thankful that the Lord gave me the privilege of being a mother! During these last three months of being a mommy, I have learned so much! I have come to appreciate my own mother so much more!
Here are some pictures I got today of our little guy! He is so funny! He will open his eyes wide and stare every time I get the camera out! I hope you enjoy these! I sure LOVE every minute of being with this little person!

Teething days...

Our sweet little man is officially teething! Now that the colicky days were almost over, we have another thing bothering him! Oh well, such is life! He's been so fussy lately and has not been sleeping very well.  I can't believe he's already teething!!!! He's growing way to fast! So, I am reading up on ways to make this a little better for him! Someone suggested teething tablets, the problem is we don't have a Wal-Mart here, so I will have to see what I can find. Poor little guy, he is one miserable little fellow today! I think I'll just take some extra time today to cuddle with him :) *grin* I sure LOVE doing this :) Being a mommy is great, even on the hard days!
