Moving on

And life moves on...Thanksgiving is past, already! Unbelievable!

We had an awesome Thanksgiving. We got together with three other missionary families for Thanksgiving. Everything was perfect, and just beautifully decorated.

And the food was scrumptious...

I won't even mention the desserts! Way too yummy!

I didn't get many pictures of our day, unfortunately, so this will have to suffice :) If you are interested in viewing more pictures of our Thanksgiving feast, the Schrocks  have some beautiful ones posted on their blog..go take a peek :)

Life continues to be crazy busy...I feel like I am always on the run! The hubby has been extremely busy trying to finish up school, all the last minute papers to turn in are just overwhelming! I find myself swamped as I try to help him out by typing and reading over his work, I can't even imagine how he feels! He's definitely surviving on coffee and very little sleep! I am thankful this will soon end! I am so ready to have my husband back!

The prince is as busy as ever...talking up a storm. We decorated our home for Christmas today, and had so much fun! Pictures to come soon :)

It's been a busy last couple of months.. On Saturday our car got hit by a truck :( I am thankful we're all safe, and only material damage was done.

Sigh...

It's going to be a loooonnnggg week for us!

Many blessings,

October already?!

I still can't believe it's October! I love this time of the year. We don't have fall here in Brazil, but I still enjoy this season and I enjoy decorating for Fall!

I worked on a couple items this year to decorate our house...and I was pleased with the outcome :)

I still have the same wreath made of coffee filters from last year, I just added a couple colorful leaves, and here it is, hanging on my door ;)

I also tried my hand at sewing a bunting...this is my first time making one of these, but it was super easy and I really enjoyed making it.. hubby & the prince liked it a lot, prince loves to point at it and say "pretty, pretty".
And here is my table decor...I made a pumpkin and an apple out of toilet paper rolls, newspaper, cloth and some felt! Super simple and easy, yet I like it a lot!
Happy Fall, everyone!

Anyone else tired?!?!

So, it's a new year, but I really don't feel like anything is new, expect for the new pages and numbers on my calendar.

Oh why am I so tired?!?!

Seriously, it was ridiculously hard to get out of bed this morning! The little prince woke up at an ungodly hour today, so after playing and jabbering for about 40 minutes in his crib, he finally went back to sleep!

I am so glad I ignored him ...I know, I know, that sounds just terrible.

I think I am suffering from the sugar high and calorie high last couple of weeks. I definitely need to go on a diet soon. No kidding! I feel like a stuffed turkey, ready to be eaten at Thanksgiving ;) I really want to go on a diet and also go jogging at least 3 time a week. That's one of my new year's resolution...yeah, I know, those are made to be broken, but oh well, I at least have to try !!!! So many things I want to do, but oh energy where art though?!?!

Anyways, hubby went back to work today, after 3 weeks off. It's hard to adjust back to not having him around. The little guy is missing his daddy today, but we're having oddles of fun together...he's being so funny today, he will jabber for hours and it seems like he is actually trying to tell me stories. I am so glad he's happy, sure makes it easier for the exhausted mommy here! Seriously, am I the only mommy out there who gets totally worn out?!?! I sure feel like it sometimes...but I am so thankful for this wonderful privilege that is mine. Wouldn't change it for the world...even in the harder days!  It's just an amazing thing...motherhood is! It's fun and challenging, but oh, so sweet and rewarding!

You should see my house today...I have loads of laundry to do...loads and loads...literally... sooo I am off to get things organized and catch up on my laundry. Wish me luck!

                                                           Happy Monday to you!!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas Day

MERRY CHRISTMAS

It's finally Christmas day! Hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful day! We had a wonderful dinner last night with my parents! It was so yummy. I have some pictures, but I didn't bring anything to hook my camera up to the computer, so I won't be able to post them. I am soooo excited to have internet out here in the country:) It's just awesome  (grin). We've just been enjoying a wonderful time out here..Our house construction is going so well. Alex has been working really hard on it, and We're just getting so excited about it! I cannot wait to be in my house! Hopefully in the next couple of months, we will be in it! Oh, have I mentioned I cannot wait?!?! It's just so exciting to have a house built just the way I want it to be....I am spoiled :) I do have pictures of the construction too, but I will have to post it some other time.
Country life is....different, but I am loving it! It's just so calm and very quiet out here. Josh and I have enjoyed swimming...yes...swimming! It's in the 90's here people :) Josh loves being in the water. He will squeal and laugh in delight when we go swimming in the water tank...fun times! I love watching the sunsets here, it's too beautiful for words...just so relaxing. I really needed this break. The city  and the people there was stressing me out. For some reason, I am just tired of rude people, and noise, and am just living the life out here..it's wonderful!
Anyways, going back to our Christmas Eve, we opened gifts last night. It was so fun to see Josh opening his first Christmas gifts ( I have pictures of that too) ...we're really enjoying this first Christmas with our little prince...he's the best Christmas gift ever! I am so thankful for him!
Plans for today, are to have a big churrasco here. Some people from church are coming and we're just going to enjoy a relaxed day of fellowshipping with them! I am really looking forward to it!
Hope you all enjoy your Christmas day!

A Birthday party

We were invited to a birthday party for Camilly ( a little girl from our church and my sunday school class) on Saturday night. My mother and I made the cake, and wow, it took a lot of work. Lucimar, (Camilly's mom) is a good friend of mine and she asked me to get the pictures for her, so I did! It was a very interesting party, and very pink ( smile). Everything looked very pretty, here are some pictures...

I am still alive!

Hello, I am still alive, believe it or not! What can I say, craziness...Things have been literally crazy around here! I have been starting posts for the longest time, and never get them done. Something always comes up and I am interrupted, but trust me, they're more important things, so...posting can wait :)
My husband has three weeks off work so we're working on our house construction. I am fighting a cold, so I have not been feeling the best lately... We're getting excited for Christmas!

We had a special Christmas program at church last night. It went very well and we had several visitors, so they got to hear the gospel clearly. I have several pictures to post from that, so stay tuned ....

In the meanwhile,  enjoy some family pictures....

Out and about

We went out and about last night. This new supermarket opened this week and we wanted to see what it was like. It's called Extra supermarket and it's the closest thing to Wal-Mart here. We did not have anything like it, so I was so excited! It reminded me a lot of Wal-Mart in the States. They were packed last night, so we only looked around for a couple of minutes and left. I saw several things I want to go back and get, but the line to pay for the stuff was ridiculously long. I hope to go back this week with my Mom so we can take time to look at everything. We just kind of looked over all the stuff because my hubby and daddy were there with us and well, I'll just say they're not too keen on shopping, soo sigh, we'll just have to back sometime soon!

We left the supermarket and just watched the city lights for a while! It was fun! Josh enjoys looking at all the Christmas light and the car light that were zooming by under us

Lighted up tree!

Melodious monday

I am sitting here enjoying this comfortable, overcast day, not as cool as I wish it were, but it is nice!  I have a big mug of really strong coffee sitting here. *Yummy! * Wish we had some snow! I envy you people who have snow on the ground!
Josh & I enjoyed a laid back day. We slept in and then went out for breakfast. It was a lot of fun! Little prince has been feeling some better. His finger is healing so nicely! So much better than I expected! I am so thankful he's feeling better! It's amazing how fast these little people heal! He uses his hands to touch everything, (I was afraid he would be scared of using it) and he's even crawling (Smile). It's hard to keep him quiet, he's a very active little man. He has learned to pull himself up on things and takes small steps around! I can't believe how fast he's grown and how much a child develops in just months! Wow! He's going to be 9 months old on Wednesday! Where has time gone?!?! I still can't get over how fast these 9 months have gone!

We're having homemade deep dish pizza tonight and I made some chocolate chip bars for dessert... life is good!
Hubby has a huge presentation at school tonight. He spent many days working on this project. He was up 'til 4:00 am. last night working on it! After this week, he will have three months vacation from school, so we're excited and anxious to have some more time together as a family! He left for school all dressed up, he looked sooo handsome (swoon)!!!! He actually had a suit on! If you know my hubby, you'll know that's a once in a life-time thing! He only wore a suit at our wedding and I convinced him of wearing a suit for my cousin's wedding. (I think he only had it on for half of the wedding :) Here he went to school in suit and tie! Impressive! I wanted to get a picture, but I could not find the camera :( Oh why can I not find things when I need it most?!?! (sigh) This is historical, so I really needed to have this documented!
Oh well, I hope there will be another time!

Well, my pizza is done, so off I go to enjoy it!

Have a wonderful evening!
